Being this is a Mazda site, it bothers me to been seeing any luv for a chevy. It's disappointing. I expect nothing more than trash talking from a group of Mazda loyalists.

I can't trash talk a car until I get a hold of one. I've had a chance to once over SRT-4's of both variants, hence my hatred for them. Someone bring me a 'balt and we'll see what's up.

I am only biased against Honda. Cobalts are predestined to fail, this is not in question. However, Chevy may have gotten something right with this one.

I dont hate any cars strictly because they are made by a certain manufacturer. If a car performs well, especially at a low cost, I am typically a fan.

Exactly. I'm a car enthusiast. If any car is done well I'll probably like it or at least not hate it just because it's not a Mazda.

Right now Mazda's doing things right so they have my loyalty. But if that changes I'll look elsewhere, regardless of brand. Yes, Tom even Honda.

Typically Japan>US in the import game. But you have to give Chevy credit they put together a faster car here. Not a car that I would spend my money on but faster around the ring weather it be from better driver or not.

see i dont hate car manufactures, honda are good cars really, but its the drivers that ruin the cars, and honda drivers have for ever left a sour taste for me, and the same will happen with the cobalt, their drivers are going to be morons that think they can do anything.

i didnt use to be a mazda fan, i use to be more of bmw and nissans, never been a fan of domestics, except for cars older than the 60's, the thing that has won me over is the rotary engine, i love it, sure it might not have torque, but i challenge any car company to squeeze the torque from such a small engine, as long as mazda keeps making rotary cars they will have my loyalty.

Ivan, it is the production cars that make my hate Toyota and more recently Honda. Premium priced mediocrity that is lauded as something great just irritates me. Instead of lauding your cars as something great, make them something great.

No it looked a lot like this one minus the huge intercooler that this one has but still the same style.

Chevy does have to get there sport comp car mmarket built up and I think this Cobalt is the best thing they have to do that.

GM has earned my wrath with its long history of incompetency and horribly made products. I have a prime example in my winter beater. You wouldn’t believe all the shit that fell apart on this car when it was only 4 years old. It has nothing to do with a Japan>US game. There is no game, only the simple fact that Japan makes better cars then American auto makers. The market PROVES that, plain and simple. The fact that people want to take two mag reviews and claim that this car has anything over a MS3 is simply people grasping at straws. Until some real world head to head stats and first hand reports are available, the rest is just empty speculation.

It is not a simple fact that Japan makes better cars than the American auto makers, and the market is not based on excellence, but rather popularity and hype.

I haven't read anyone in this review section thread claim the Cobalt is better than the MS3 because of the 2 magazine reviews. One person quoted the Nurburgring times which mean nothing. But most people are only saying that this appears to be a solid car with numbers similar to the MS3. Simply discussing a car with no brand bias is something we should be able to do on the forums.
