Headphone recommendations?

Looking for some input on a decent set of headphones that would be well-suited for use during moderate activities... running, walking, raking leaves, cleaning the toilet, etc. (I often find that I need to listen to music to keep myself motivated.) I have an inexpensive pair of JLab in-ear headphones that have decent enough audio quality for my taste--especially considering that I'm usually just streaming music off my phone--but the damn things will not stay in my ears for more than about 5 minutes unless I'm sitting perfectly still. They came with 4 different silicone shells for the ear buds, but none work for me.

tl;dr...

1)Comfort/won't fall off my melon
2)Price... south of $100, prefer to stay $40-80
3)Sound quality

So, with that said... anyone have any suggestions that might fit the bill

Anyone who says Beats or Bose will be banned with the force of 1000 suns.

What are you using for a source? MP3 player? Smart Phone?

Consider the LG Tone - HBS-700 Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headset. $45 on Amazon. I have them and they work nicely for my iPhone and Android. I find the lack of wires very convenient during moderate activities, and the ability to take a phone call is handy. Downside is they have a battery that needs recharging after 8-10 hours of use. Sound quality is good considering the fact they're wireless.

Smartphone. So, yes, I'd be open to something with bluetooth. I am a bit wary of ear buds, after my current set... but hard to say if it's something weird with the shape of my ears, or something particular to my current set. I'll keep those in mind!

I hate ear buds and have a set from a vip package for the A7X concert a ways back that have worked out awesome for over the ear phones that give great sound and keep the sound in my ear and not for others to deal with. Wish I knew the company that actually made them.

Why the hate for Bose for BbD?

Besides the fact that they are overpriced and overhyped? I have read that some of the higher end Beats products are *okay*, but still get crushed by most other brands at that price point. Bose... well, Bose is Bose.

Those look halfway decent, and not a bad price either. The downside (as mentioned in reviews) would probably be the fact that the cords have the grippy rubber type sheath that tangles easily. I think that's part of the reason my current buds don't stay in my ears when I'm moving around.

I have gone through several sets of ear buds. I wear them at work to listen to the radio and as stated above the skullcandy ones always get pulled out of me ears becuse the cord is so grippy. I am back to the stock apple units and they are fare to horseshit.

I will be watching this thread for replacements.

Jay are you looking for buds or full head?

I am just looking for something that will not fall off my head during light/moderate activity... so either in-ear buds or a "sport style" on-ear set. But leaning towards buds.

I've been eyeing these up for a while now to use as you intended too, plus at the gym.
Basically they are cheaper "beats". I need me some low end frequencies.

Those look like they might be nice from a "not falling off standpoint" but the price and the Monster brand, along with the reviews don't inspire a ton of confidence.

I have the 2012 heavy medals, and honestly, I haven't experience them being to grippy. I wear an undershirt and then some kind of polo for work everyday an have the cord sandwiches in between them, and I run around and climb ladders all day. No probs, also, they're 13 or 13.5 mm drivers, not 11 as stated on amazon

LOL Nate... better price than Amazon though!

Also, the driver is basically the size of the speaker. Bigger driver = better bass response.

Check out shures and sennheisers. I've never been disappointed with either. Just go to bet buy and return them if you don't like them.

Have you tried in-ear phones from those brands? If I was looking for on-ear or over-ear, I would be looking at Sennheisers all the way, but I have just not read a whole lot about their in-ear stuff.

Also, returned in-ear phones? ewww.... lol

From Shure I have had in-ear and they're among the best I've ever had for $80, for Sennheisers I've got a pair of studio headphones (over ear, but I wouldn't go mowing or running with them).

They will take them back and credit you, they send them back to the manufacturer for disposal. Their system flags returned items like that as a dispose only. Satisfaction guaranteed! Buy with confidence, or something like that, right?

Nope, have not bought anything yet. At this point I'll probably wait till after xmas unless a great deal pops up. Though, I may need some snow shovelling headphones before then...

the best snow shoveling and snow blowing gear I've ever used while listening to tunes was running an ear bud up inside my autox full face helmet and going to town. it was epic, warm, and wind free.
