Wow what a weekend.

Well I just got back from a training seminar based on MAF/MAS based tuning systems.

It was put together by a gentleman that makes the programs for most OEM manufactures (including Mazda). I learned quite a bit about Direct Injection, VANOS on the BMW's, etc.

After talking to the engineer, I am going to hold off on R&D for the intake for a bit. I have a customer coming in with the CP-E tuning stuff.

I am curious to see the tuning range of the CP-E stuff and we'll see if we want to start to mess around with the intake trac.

And the dreaded tuning bug still plagues the Mazdaspeed cars. But good to know you went for some training on how to tune our motors in the Speed 3/6.

good work and keep us all posted on the progress

Well the issue is it is a MAF based system. With that being said the injector timing on a DI style fueling vehicle is extremely critical.

Too much of a pipe increase will change the airflow characteristics, and could ruin how the vehicle performs. The safer bet is to start on the exhaust side of things, but then again, I do have a car coming in wednesday with that CP-E tuning device.

I will see how well that works and report back.

I am jealous man. I love listening/reading about that kind of stuff. Sounds like it was a good experience for ya, and definitely changed some of your original thoughts. Keep us posted on how things turn out this week.

Yes and know, more of confirmed theories.

I was dragging feet on the project because I was worried about the lack of monitoring.

How feasible would a reasonably priced exhaust system be? Right now, everything out there seems grossly expensive, but I'm sure that's just due to low demand.

Or maybe a set of hardpipes?
