We have updated to the newest version of the forum. Please let us know if you see any issues. And, yes, we know the shoutbox is gone. We'll see about getting it back if they make a newer version.
If you know of any good european or asian sites for car parts, please post them up here. Now that Suzuki has pulled out of the US, it's getting a bit difficult to locate some things, but parts should be plentiful overseas. My google-fu seems to fail at locating such retailers, however.

To my knowledge the only tuning people have done on the non-turbo 3's is with a full standalone. You could in theory adjust cruising AFRs by using a device that can adjust both the MAFS and O2 sensor signals. My guess is the car already does a pretty good job of running at stoich during...
Welcome! I received a home brewing kit as a gift a couple years back, but for some reason I've never gotten around to using it. If you've got any favorite brewing resources or info sites, post em up!
If you find someone parting out their MSP, you can probably expect to pay ~$1500-2000 for everything from the exhaust mani to oil lines if everything is in good working order.
mazdas247 is probably the place to look for that. AFAIK, I'm the only active member here with a MSP, and I don't...
IIRC, the protege's ECU doesn't play well with most piggyback systems. The SplitSecond AFC is pretty much the only one that reliably works, since it's working with a few more inputs and outputs than a typical piggyback.
I have a love/hate relationship with mine. It's been mostly hate lately, but once I start driving it again it will probably be love until I spin a bearing or something.
I don't think block heaters or special batteries are necessary. A modern fuel injected car in decent running condition with a Wal-Mart battery will have no problems starting on 99.5% of winter days in MN.
Rust is almost a given at some point. But a good coat of wax in the fall (don't skip things like door jambs!) and touch free car washes on a weekly basis will help delay it as long as possible.
Going down one grade in cold pour viscosity will help immensely. If you use 10W-30 in Texas...
I'll back up and say I was being a little narrow-minded in my original reply. From a power standpoint, your p5 will not be fast without major engine work. However, these cars DO have a great chassis and suspension for what they are.
For about a grand into suspension parts (a little more...
Yeah, there is not a whole lot of "untapped" power in that motor unless you're willing to go forced induction. You could slap an intake and exhaust on and probably fool the butt dyno into thinking you've gained some power, but the truth is that despite a fair amount of effort I don't think...
We were going to hit Glacier, but we had to cut back from 2 weeks to 1 week. and just weren't able to squeeze it in unfortunately :(
I think we're going to try again next year though with some better planning, and make it out to WA/OR, heading through Glacier.
Last minute planning as usual. Anyone have any first hand experience with campgrounds in the badlands and yellowstone areas? Otherwise I'll probably just throw a dart at the map and pick the nearest national park campground. lol
