What if I...?

Painted my stock wheels white and then covered them with glow paint? Then, on top of that glow paint, a clear coat? Hmmm....

By the way, these would be used as my new winter setup, so I don't really care. Just not stock silver. Anything but stock silver.

IF that worked it would be pretty interesting if you worked all day (getting the glow stuff charged), and then drove home at night (winter=dark early) with glow wheels every day.

Oh yeah, it would only be at/around sunset when they would look glowy. The morning too, pre-sunrise as I park my car in a lighted garage.

I think this is one of those things that works awesome in theory, but not so much in real life. But if you do it, I want to see them shits in person.

I'M OFFENDED!
I will help you do it. It will look awesome. Word of warning, I was going to do that, and the State Patrol I queried about it thought it was a REALLY bad idea.

If you make them an amber/orange color I think you might be able to get away with it, you can have side running lights that color so I don't think they could say much about it. Other colors like red/green/blue/etc would be bad juju.

Jeesh...Didn't know it was frowned upon by "the law". So many stupid laws/rules...You can only drive this fast! You can only have 50% tint! Opps, you failed to use your turn signal...shame on you. Can anybody tell me if I'm still able to wipe my ass from front to back?

Tom, I may take you up on the offer, but I'll need some confirmation from the state patrol. My roomie is applying, so he can ask some of the buddy's he's made during the process. I too think it would look sick as heck! Fresh charge while driving through any busy intersection! HAHA!

Unless by some legal definition you can prove it's not a light/illuminated, any color but amber is potentially going to get you in trouble, just like neon lights or LED's would on the outside of your car. I haven't read the laws to the letter so I can't tell ya for sure, though even if legally a glow in the dark wheel is not considered a light, it may mean going to court and arguing that fact if you were given a ticket.

I wish more people would get pulled over for not using their turn signals, is it really that hard? :p

If you do this I need to see it, think it could be cool.
