St. Paul police will aggressively crack down on speeding motorists this Saturday then the following three weekends as part of the Safe and Sober campaign.

Officers will be working overtime Saturday, July 27-28, Aug. 3-4 and Aug. 10-11 to curb speeding motorists. The additional patrols are funded through the campaign, which involves hundreds of law enforcement agencies partnering statewide throughout the summer to reduce the number of traffic crashes and injuries.

A motorist ticketed for traveling 10-30 mph over the limit in Ramsey County will be fined between $118 and $278.

Howzabout they crack down on drunk drivers for Safe and Sober weekend instead? I don't know about anyone else here, but the one time you can guarantee I wouldn't be speeding is if I had a bit too much to drink.

Why don't they go work on the crime issue they have on the south side o and go get the guys that pray on kids and stuff. You can just let me go 5 mph over and not worry about it then.

Its all about revenue. Its not good to speed, don't get me wrong, but they WANT you to speed. Otherwise they would go broke
