Side Markers

So I was wondering if anyone has installed side markers on a Protege that didn't have them originally. I wanted to install some on my 99 ES but I need to know where to place them, and what kind of shape I need to cutout. I was looking for either a link to a how-to, or pictures of behind the side marker.

Speaking of side markers -- Jay, what kind of paint did you use on those side marker trim rings you gave me? The gunmetal doesn't work so hot with my car, but I think they'd look good if I did them up chrome to match the rest of the badges.

It was duplicolor graphite metallic I think.

If you want chrome, I'd just order another set off ebay.... they were only about $15 shipped as I recall.
