saturn sky tire suggestions

my friend has a saturn sky and is in need of new tires before he brings it out in a couple weeks. he has been looking at Yokohamas (not sure on specific tire model tho) and has been quoted around 1300 for a set. He seems to think that run-flats are necessary since there isn't a spare, but the run-flats are whats jacking the price up. tires are 245-45-18 96v, and thats what he's sticking too (unless theres a reason to switch

thoughts/ideas/input on brand/model?

Star Specs. I have 245/40/17's on my ms3, and I couldn't be happier. Screw run-flats, thats what tow insurance is for.

I'm a Michelin whore, have yet to have one that I haven't liked.

The rankings on Tire Rack are very helpful in choosing a tire, incidentally.

i'll either point him at the star specs or the dz101. dz101's might last longer with his driving style.
