i am doing a brake job to my car tomorrow, just wondering if anyone has painted their calipers? Im gonna give it a whirl, hopefully it turns out good? always liked the looks of big name brand calipers painted brightly behind the wheels.

A few of us have painted our calipers. G2 kits seem to be the preferred way to go, although I've had some paint peeling by hitting them too hard with a pressure washer at the do-it-yourself car wash in the Winter, so I'll probably end up doing them over again. I'm hoping to find a high-heat clear coat to put over the top of the G2 kit for longevity.

I had the best luck cleaning off the calipers before the paint by using a metal brush attachment for a power drill. The brake dust was flying off the calipers and it seemed like it may have smoothed the surface of the metal a bit as well. I did the red G2 kit and was very happy with the results initially. I only had 2 jack stands though, and I would recommend using 4 jack stands so you can work your way around the calipers several times to give them multiple coats. I only did 2 coats due to the time involved in raising and lowering the car because I didn't have enough jack stands. With 4 stands I think you could get 3-4 coats on, no problem.

I took the easy route, ill let you all know how it turns out, and how it lasts.
I first took a wire wheel in a small air grinder, cleaned them real well with brake cleaner, then i took duplicolor caliper spray paint and went at it, its designed for calipers and is a ceramic paint that cures with the heat, good for over 500 degrees. looks good so far
