I believe the MS3/MS6 AP's are exactly the same, so it should work on the MS3 as well, FWIW.

Yep - AP will recognize what car it's on and update it with the correct firmware.

I bought an MS3 AP and it works just the same.

Just an FYI 2009 MS3 may not work with the AP, 08.5 should though.
