MS3 wheels for winter??

So i bought a set of MS3 wheels this summer and put conti's DWS on them.My MZ3 has 17's with yoko's advins on them right now,my questions is would it be dumb to put the 18' MS3 wheels on for winter use? I know the DWS tires are a lot better of a tire then the advins but since there 18's would that make a huge difference?

18" snows are HELLA expensive. Find some 16's that fit and rock those. Thats what I have.

My "winter" setup is my stock MS3 wheels and Conti ExtremeContact (DWS). They're very good in the snow. Not as good as true winter tires, but they perform admirably.

I ran hankook Icebear's on my stock MS3 wheels for 3 years and loved em. One set lasted me all 3 years (would have had to replace them for the 4th year), if you're going to keep the car for MANY years it's probably cheaper to get 16's or 17's but the price difference wasn't enough to make dealing with a third set of wheels/tires in my garage worth it. A decent all-season or Winter tire on the 18's is just fine for the winter.

Thanks picklz thats what i was thinking also.I would keep my 17's it just that i could used the extra storage space and i figure if i have a nice set of tires to use for winter why not?

Theres always deals on 18 inch winter tires on Craigslist if you watch out for them. I scored a set of 18 inch Michelin X-Ice's w/ only 1000 miles on em for 250 bucks for all 4 to put on my MS3 rims. Ive seen a couple other deals on winter 18s in the last month also after I got mine.
