Local Interest: Custom Shift boots??

Hey everyone!

I'm working on a replacement shift boot for the msp. I currently have one in my car made of black suede that was custom made for my msp. I am going to be working within this next month on several shift boot designs. I was wondering if there would be any local interest for these? Depending on how the msp ones turn out, If someone would be willing to get me their stock ms6 or stock ms3 shift boots for a prototype, I could come up with a replacement for those as well.

If there is an interest, what kinds of materials would you all be interested in? The easiest fabric for me to work with is the suede, but I could try a leather look as well if someone would prefer that. Also, what colors? For the msps I personally think suede (black suede or??) makes the best looking shift boot and the stitching could be blue for the blue msps, orange for the black and oranges, and so on; or whatever you prefer.

Anyways, let me know what you all think!

Depending on the price, I'd be very interested. I guess I'd want to see the suede in person first, but you've got my attention ;)

Jay- you should have looked at the one in my car tonight at the meet. Oh well, next week.

I will try to have one done in the next few weeks for you all to see. Not sure what the price will be yet, but they will be $25 or less for the locals. It all depends on how much suede is going to cost me.

I heard that red thread is imported directly from a monastery in bhutan. Very hard to come by. I'm not sure it'll be possible, tom.

Yea, I didn't know where to put this... ha ha ha... Anyways, yes I could do red. I'm going to go out next week to buy the materials and make a few in different colors. Probably not this next wednesday but the week after I will bring some to the wednesday meet. This coming week you should look at the one in my car. I would post pics but they really don't do it any justice as my digital camera sucks and the suede feel is really what i like ;)

Ash, any updates on these? I'm still onboard for a black boot (although I think I might want silver/grey stitching instead)

Yea, I am still working on them- I have a few done but several different ways- I spent a few hours making random kinds playing with ideas for stitching.... I will try to finish some up this week and bring them on saturday.
