Press report from COBB:

COBB AccessTUNER Pro for MAZDASPEED3 & MAZDASPEED6

First tuning software to customize OEM ECU caibrations for the MAZDASPEED3 & MAZDASPEED6

COBB Tuning announces the release of AccessTUNER Pro v1.7 for the MAZDASPEED3 and MAZDASPEED6. This release marks the world's first publicly available tuning software to create custom ECU calibrations for the MAZDASPEED3 & 6. Using AccessTUNER Pro V1.7, professional engine tuners can configure the ECU to extract the maximum power made available by performance modifications. Whether it's an intake, exhaust, turbo, cams or any combination of performance modifications, AccessTUNER v1.7 gives professional engine tuners the ability to create a custom calibration for a specific combination of modifications. The calibration is then flashed to the ECU via the AccessPORT handheld ECU flashing device, providing impressive power gains with all of the drive-ability and sophisticated control inherent in the OEM ECU.

AccessTUNER Pro puts control of vital engine parameters in the hands of the professional engine tuner, such as boost, fuel, ignition, closed loop, idle, RPM and speed limiters, load, throttle, sensor calibration and variable valve timing. Customizable data monitors let the tuner choose which channels to monitor and use them to see how changes impact the behavior of the engine. The built-in datalogging capability captures data from these monitors so the tuner can review engine performance through the entire rev-range. 3-D graphical mapping gives the tuner a comprehensive view of engine behavior across three axes to evaluate where performance can be maximized.

AccessTUNER Pro v1.7 is supported on Windows XP and Windows Vista 32-bit operating systems. The USDM 2007-2009 MAZDASPEED3 and 2006-2007 MAZDASPEED6 (both Federal and California models) are supported in this software release.

For more information on how to join the COBB Pro Tuner network and become one of the world's first professional engine tuners of the MAZDASPEED3 and MAZDASPEED6, please contact COBB Tuning Sales at (801) 713-0443 or wholesale@cobbtuning.com.
Anyone know if MAP is a Pro Tuner? :D

edit: AccessTUNER Race (the public-user version) has a set release date of September 23rd, 2009.

Yeah I hope MAP is a protuner as well. I really don't want to have to drive out of state to get a tune.

I checked Cobb's website, and it states MAP is just a dealer, while DB Performance (http://www.dbptuning.com/) is an AccessTUNER - located in Rogers, MN.

I sent an e-mail to MAP asking if they are an AccessTUNER as Cobb may have not updated the website. I'll relay the info. here when I find out.

Either way, this is HUGE news for the MS3/6 community, and we should definitely be seeing some big gains soon - and we best be seeing some >400+whp DISIs!

110 HP of FURY!
Going to MAP is going to be a solid choice, but for those who end up looking into DB, Shane up there has loads of experience and support from locals. He used to work for Elite before DB. Another great group up there. There is NO reason to take your car out of state for a tune. Swanny on this site is a very good tuner as well. MN has some great tuners!

I suspect awesome things to come from this. As everyone has already stated, I hope Jordan at MAP becomes certified for ATP. I am so anxious to see the differences between the speed3s with the OTS maps vs. protune specific to MY/mods. *does a wiggle dance*

^ From what I have heard since my days on MIAC(2002) Shane knows his stuff.
Miac? Now that is an OG reference.
