"That's my heart, my dream," said Hoang, 18,"That's my girlfriend, the love of my life. The cops can crush my car, but they can't crush my memories. LOL"

(I added the LOL)

He had purchased a B-20 Vtech engine with a double-overhead cam

Zavala, who admits he has been involved in street racing, estimates he and his mother spent about $10,000 on improvements to his car. (Isn't that sweet... his mommy helped him pay for his mad-tyte v-tak swap!)

She did she did. Least he used the big block instead of the b16 swap that everyone does.

I kinda get the feeling that the parts were legit... or were they really stolen goods?

Probably some of both. If he purchased the the engine used, and from a shop, who knows where it really came from. What really baffles me, is the kid has this HUGE amount of cash from his 'rents dumped into the car, and he's street racing? You mean moms didn't smack him on the head and say "no chillun that's a bad chillun"? Makes no sense to me whatsoever. You KNOW that this wasn't the first time any of these kids were caught racing. I guarantee that. Means that mom had to have a clue as to what was going on, yet she continued to support it. I'll help my kid work on his car for sure, and possibly even throw him some green to get some cool parts. But for fucks sake, if he gets caught by Johnny Law racing, I'm taking that shit and stripping it myself, and putting the whole fucking thing on eBay. Teach that kid a lesson and get my money back.

??? I see 4 hondas and an acura. If there is an FD in there, It's got to be that silver one.

crushing rx7s should be like gutting a bald eagle: against the law!

dont mean to be rude, but you guys wouldn't be laughing if it was your cars instead of the hondas. granted there is a serious problem, but how do you know the cops are going to care if its a honda or a speed 6, an evo or a mustang? think about it.

Honestly, a street-racing goober is a street-racing goober, whatever they happen to be driving. Sure, we'd be making fun of the cars less if it was a mazdaspeed instead of a honda (in fact, the silver car in the middle is an RX-7), but they still got what they had coming.

very true.. I'm glad that people buying stolen stuff wether (sp.) or not it's all stolen gets some kind of punishment... granted I don't think it should have been that bad but... at least maybe this will help with some of the theft...

it would be sooo sad if one night at uni.. all the cops barricaded everyone in and crushed everyone's cars for being suspicious street racers... *knock on wood*

Meh... I dont think street racing is half as bad as people make it out to be.

You have to remember, those dopes all had priors for racing. If the cops barricaded uni know what i'd do? Sit there and smoke a cig. Them fuckers got nothin on me. Without video evidence of me racing, the worst they can do is tag me for my tint. I have NO parts on my car that it didn't start with, and they're all legit at that.
