Shut up AJ... you guys get to bicker and troll each other all day in the chatbox. All I have is the occasional "Is silver made of metal" BS thread to roll with. lol

If this is only about the abstract concept of "silver", then any answer would be wrong. The abstract concept of a wrench is not made of metal. In fact, many wrenches have rubber coated grips, so technically it's wrong to say that a wrench is made of metal anyways. Do you see where I'm going?

The structure of the game is such that partial rightness defines a correct answer, and only complete wrongness disqualifies an answer.
I prefer to play by a significantly tighter structure than you seem to prefer. I would also say that if you have to move to an abstract concept, you've reached way too far and that is bending the rules too much to be allowable. I would say you have to have the preponderance of rightness at least for it to be a correct answer, and I don't think "silver" passes that.

After all, should you really NEED to go that weird to come up with something made of metal that starts with the letter "S"?
