Anyone done a rear wheel bearing on an ms3?

Short story. Wheel bearing in the right rear may be going bad. Not really sure, because every time it shrieks a little, I stamp the brakes, sounds like a rock comes out of the dust shield, and it goes away. Not really in the mood to take chances though. I've done bearings on a domestic car before, but that may have been cheating, because the bearings pressed right into the rotor hat before the rotor went on the hub, and tightening the wheel down put the whole thing in place. Being that the car is Japanese, I don't hold hope for such luck. I fully intend on attempting this myself, unless it turns out to be a REAL pain in the ass, in which case, I'll be dialing Morries for some bearings. Do not want dealer labor.

Anyone? Things to look out for, specialty tools I may not possess, etc?

Mainly, you'll probably need a shop press. Unless the bearings are integrated in the hub like on my car. I don't think using a huge socket and a deadblow is necessarily something I'd count on working to remove and press in a bearing. I've been meaning to pick one up myself so I can do the front bearings on my car. That, or remove the entire wheel hub, and bring it to the nearest shop and they will probably replace the bearings for $30 or so.

If you're not sure that's what it is, jack up the ass end of your car and spin the wheel as fast as you can then listen for noise.

Hm. I would probably pay you to borrow your shop press should you acquire one. I think I'm just gonna do new brakes all the way around and see what happens.

I need to replace the brakes on Jenny's truck as well (hijacking based on Tom's last comment)... probably rotors and pads all around. They're pulsing pretty good and have been for a while IIRC. She doesn't notice it, I don't know how, but when I drove it up north... bad news.

Do some brake work meet?
