225/45/18 on 18x7.5 52 offset?

I have been planning to run some 225/45/18 BFG G-Forces Sport tires on my 5Zigen ZR+520 wheels which are 18x7.5 on 52 offset. But I just saw a thread about someone rubbing on RX8 wheels with that tire size. Anyway I'm lowered on COBB springs, and I want to know if I would be able to run the 225 tire with a 45 height, on my 52 offset wheels.

I run 225/45/18 on 18x7.5 45 offset on my MS6. I had to roll my fenders, but no more rubbing after that. MS3 I assume? I think you should be fine.

Yeah GM's rollin' an MS3. I've got plenty of room with 222/45 x 17s on my regular 3, so an extra inch should be fine. A few people on the forum have talked about doing a fender-rolling event sometime this spring, so that's probably a good idea if you're at all concerned or just want the extra room.

come on guys I'm talking about a high offset wheel like mine 52. I know it will fit lower ones. SO who has RX8 wheels, Stock wheels, or my 5zigen wheels, with 225/45/18 tires

I've got 225/45R18 on the stock rims which are high offset but 18x7.

My rubbing problems arise from the diameter of the tires as they rub the black plastic inside the wheel well occasionally over bumps or if I have people sitting in the back. So, 225/45s on an 18x7.5 rim would flatten that tire and lower the diameter a little, but lowered on springs you might rub the plastic inside the fender as well.

i'm running the stock tire now..but I want to run a wider tire this summer. O and yes I'm lowered on COBB springs. I don't want to have to get 215 45 18 because the tires are slim pickins and high priced to shit

well if i got 225 40 18 how much smaller would the wheel be, because my main reason for wanting 45 is that I don't want to wheel gap to look bigger

I'M OFFENDED!
I've seen 245/40's on rx8's that just BARELY rub with a roll, and that's with people in the car. 225's, you should see no problem. Roll em and call it good.

I just tried 235/40's on my car today. I will barely clear without rubbing, but I plan on rolling. I'm dropped on Road Magnet springs.

keke did you just install the road magnets?...did you go with the 1.3 or 1.75" drop?

Back on topic: JT have you had anyone in your car with you to see if you have rubbing going on with more weight on your springs?

As far as I am aware the Road Magnets only come one way, 1.1inch drop. I installed them over the weekend.

Well, it's tough to tell. I had 2 adults in the back a couple hours after it was dropped. I haven't noticed much as far as the springs settling more, but I had zero issues with it then. With a 225/40 on unrolled fenders, I can't see any possible way to rub.
