18X8 Tire options

I'm looking to pick up some 18X8's because MOAR width. I am however, unsure what to do about tires. Currently I have 3 options: Option 1 being the cheapest is swapping over my 225/40/18(not sure if this would be creating stretch). Option 2 (and also most unlikely) is buying 1 more 215/45/18 (rims only have 3 good tires, don't know why they have 215's). Option 3 is selling off the 215's and possibly my MS6's with or without tires to fund new tires, Thoughts?

Also, looking at a tire calculator, 235/245 should be good on a 8in wide wheel, while 255 might have too much overhang?

245 is all the wider i'd go on an 8". Really tho, 225's would probably be all the more you need. I have 245's on 9's on my ms3....

I've had 225's on an 8" wide wheel and they work pretty well IMO. I have 235's on a 8.5" wheel currently. I think 225 is your sweet spot on a 8" personally.

I'll have 225 on my 9"s. A 225 will be a good fit on anything from a 7.5-9, and you can picture the way the tire sits based on the width. For me, I'm getting the most of my tire as possible to the ground with the 225 on a 9. If you want the same on an 8" wide wheel, go with a 215 or similar.

I have 225s on a 7.5" wheel, and it's just a hair too wide for the wheel IMO. It depends somewhat on the tire, but I think you'd generally be sitting pretty good with 225s on an 8" wheel. If you're going for a "beefy" look, go 235. If you're going for more of a "fitment" look, go 215.

If anyone ever saw Jeff's car on the rx8 rims, he had 245's on it. Looked beefy. That is what inspired all the wheel math I did for my car.

The RX8s I picked up last year had 235s on them, and I just bought replacement tires in the same size since I liked the look and fitment so much.
