100 plus octane unleaded - where?

I was looking around for some better gas, and came across this:

Holiday Station Stores #341
Hamline at Marshall
St. Paul, MN 55104
(651) 641-1045

Not sure of the price, but the gas is street legal, 100 octane, unleaded fuel. It is the Sunoco 260 GT brand. It is about 2 miles from Porky's.

And, if that does not work, here is a full list for the Twin Cities:

Speedway SuperAmerica
5337 Shoreline Blvd.
Store # 4194
Mound, MN 55364
(952) 472-5559

Wayzata Automotive
1022 Wayzata Blvd.
Wayzata, MN 55391
(952) 473-9451

4 Seasons Automotive
9950 County Road 9
Plymouth, MN 55442
(763) 553-9113

Kisch Oil Company
17470 113th Ave North
Maple Grove, MN 55369
(763) 428-2887

I'M OFFENDED!
That's a really cool find. One night i think i'm going to throw some 100 in my car to see what it'll do.

And that is ok? I thought that if you go up...you shouldn't go back down and stuff like that?

Most ECU's detect knock and adjust the timing back as needed. So, if you got some crappy gas, your car will adapt. Moving up is harder since the ECU "learns".

Basically the brain of the car. Tells it what to do and reads what it did and adjusts accordingly.

Oh, nice, as long as I don't put any diesel in, I should be fine then, huh?

LOL.

Engine Control Unit. Some variations adapt to historical usage and some assume the optimal usage and then adjust to the current environment for that session. If it is the latter, it assumes 93 each time the car starts then adjusts back a tad as knock occurs. I suspect that is what Mazda is doing. So, putting pure 100 in there will not help, but mix it with some decent premium and you are golden. I would also target 95 octane as the target mix since temperatures can affect things a little. It has a higher boiling point than regular unleaded gas, so it is a little more stable.

The other big plus is not having to use an oxygenate like MTBE (Octane Booster) which dilutes the gas and does not help turbo cars much. If anything, it hurts performance. Octane is up, but effective energy in the gas is decreased. Mixing this gas with premium is much more effective.

Yeah, but more than likely 100 octane will do absolutely nothing on your car w/o some type of tuning. The octane can be used for addtional boost or advanced ignition curves, but just droppin 100 octane in will not necessarily increase HP. On cars with knock sensors it can help some though, as the PCM will push the knock threshold further which can bring a few addtional HP. Really, its a waste of money unless you plan on throwing more boost or timing at the car.

With that said, there is a list of stations there have race gas on www.dsmstyle.com - I will try to find it. Also, there is a Holiday station on Marshall and ... I wanna say Hamline that sells 100 unlead. That is right down in the Uni area and a lot of guys use that location. So, you are certain its a fresh fuel and of high quality. Kath off of Rice and Hwy 36 sells race gas too, usually only leaded though.

Really? Cause I think it was last summer I was out there and it was only leaded. But hey, things change...

One item to consider. Race gas is tinted. If you ever get pulled over and they took a look see, you get a ticket and a tow. The 100 octane is clear since it is street legal. Just a thought.

Is 110 leaded tinted as well? I know the c16 is that washer fluid color, but I had no idea the stuff out of the pump was tinted.
