Unichip piggyback ECU

Ever played with the ECU in a Mazda 3? Since its impossible to reflash or replace, we'd have to go with a piggyback. I know the Unichip works with the mazda 6 and the MS protege, but no one has played with the n/a 2.3 in the mazda 3.

wouldn't LSE need to be Unichip certified in order to reprogram a chip? IIRC not just anyone can re-tune a unichip.

yes. unichip is VERY picky and VERY expensive to get the start up equipment to tune

We are not a UniChip dealer. If you want a way to tune it, I can look into other piggybacks or even a full blown standalone.
AFAIK there isn't anything out yet for the Mazda 3, 6 or Mazdaspeeds (besides that Unichip mentioned in the thread on the forum you linked to).

But I just emailed them and asked about setting up an account.

the closest place that would tune Unichip is GRD in Chicago, is it not? Just wait for a better EMS. Or let someone else in the Mazda community experiment and base your tuning decision on their experience. You don't want to be the first.

I agree 100% to not being the first, lol.
I hear unichip can kind of suck, not sure. RS motors in Burnsville does Unichip.
Although i no longer own a 3. I own a speed 3, so I'm waiting for Cobb's AP to come out now!

Hell yeah. The Cobb tuning unit should send that car to the next level. I'm excited to see what those things will do with a piggyback, ex, intake, dp, and maybe a bigger turbo too. Should be nuts. But if you are the first to get tuned with Unichip and it works out great then you will be a pioneer in the MS3 world. It's kind of a double edged sword and not the cool ones you see in porn. Where two chics are laying there, well nevermind.
