$500 for Tom's bike would be a solid deal.

You'l spend at least that much to get something not nearly as good at the bike shop!

Yeah, my bike was about the best you could get w/o going full disc when I bought it in 2005. Minimal miles on it too.

If you are looking to save some cash, why not just buy something off of Craigslist? Sorry Tom, I am not trying to squash your sale, just trying to give him some lost cost options.

Used bikes are a sketchy purchase, you dont know how much use and abuse the bike has taken, what if any maintenance was done, most people never take a crank apart, even though they should be greased yearly, or after going through water, etc. And especially if your looking at an aluminum frame they only last so long, steel that's not quite as large of a concern.

The word Huffy makes my legs hurt. Huffy also invented something called "powertrain loss"
Buahahahah! F-ing classic!

On topic: Honestly, I have never maintained any of my bikes, at all. I cant say a single one of them had a seized sprocket or any type of failure. But, I would imagine I dont ride my bikes like you guys do.

Not really trying to sell it anyhow. If it sells ok, if not, whatever. I like it, but if I sold it, i'd probably buy a Kona, or like a Redline Fixie or something.

Also, yeah. I broke a huffy in half once.

Ivan, SRSLY, if you want to look for a bike, let me or Matt know. We've both been around the game for a while, and depending on your budget, can probably point you in the right direction. Used isn't too bad, but it's almost guaranteed you'll need a tune up before it's solid.

Speaking of tune up, mine needs one. Maybe this weekend. I have a need to break it.
