*Completed* - Sunday May 17 - MNmazda Spring Cruise

**Date finalized: May 17th!**

Given the good times had on the camping trip last summer, and on the fall beer cruise, I'm going to put forward the idea that's in my head: Early morning departure from the south metro into WI; ~2 hours of hard driving through some twisties, and then a leisurely cruise back up the St Croix with a couple stops for lunch and/or other stuff like that nice little dairy (I think it was in Nelson...), and be back home by early-mid afternoon. I took notes of a couple roads that were good from the fall cruise, so I could incorporate those into the spirited driving portion, maybe along with some new recruits.

Otherwise, any suggestions for destinations are welcome... Go!

Right now, for reference, we're looking at a cruise through some of the fun roads off of County Rd 35 in WI, with a return route taking us back up along CR 35 with a stop for lunch and/or sight seeing.

In. Perhaps consider adding a night or two of camping to put it over the top of awesomeness.

Let's hope spring comes on time this year...that is my bday weekend and last year we got about 6 inches of snow that day/weekend! Good luck with the weather! ;)

Hmmmm, well looking back over the last few years, we tend to be sitting at lows around 35-40 and highs around 55-60 for those days. Maybe it would be prudent to move it 2 weeks later to may 9/10? lol... I dunno.

May 10th is Mother's Day, so that might be an issue for some. I have a wedding that weekend, so I'd be out for sure. The weekend after that is wide open though, and that's the weekend before Memorial Day weekend, so the weather should be pretty decent by then. The first weekend in May would also be pretty good, but might be a little chilly for camping if that's being seriously considered.

I'd be in. Maybe stick with Apr 25/26 and pick a May weekend as a weather alternate?

Except the 9/10 of May which would be Mom's Day and Fishing Opener I believe.

I'd probably lean towards the first weekend in May as an alternate, then, just to keep a little spacing between this and the Clubhouse party going on at the end of May.

For this event, I'm leaning towards keeping it a day trip because of the mid-spring temps and to boost participation. Though if someone wants to make a convincing argument for a camping destination, it's certainly an option.

j/k...I won't be camping either way, bc the boss would never greenlight 2 overnighters in 1 month...lol I'll be lucky if I can get the greenlight for Itasca. I'm waiting for her to get in a really good mood, because I only get one shot at this...lol

I'm game for the April dates. The May dates are a little more difficult I know MOWOG 1&2 are the first weekend in May, and I'm sure I will be busy for Mothers Day.

First post updated with a new date of Saturday, May 15th. As indicated, that sunday is a possibility as well if there is significant support. The official route is still being worked out, and I'm absolutely open to suggestions!

Sunday would be better for me i got a wedding and my two year with the girlfriend on the 16th. so if it ends up being sunday count me in.

Whoa, this thread has been getting neglected! Time to drum up some interest!

So here's the deal: I've seen two votes for sunday, and no votes in favor of saturday. So I'm going to go ahead and make the date Sunday May 17. Lets start getting a list of attendees. If you can't firmly commit for whatever reason, just note it by your name... that'll make it easier to keep tabs on how many people we're going to have.
