Best option for sound deadening insulation?

Thinking about pulling my interior door panels to install some sound deadening material, like Dynamat or similar. I know that there are also some spray-type sound deadening solutions too.
My goal is to make the interior of my car quieter and hoping it will also help improve the sound quality of my speakers.

Have any of you done this on your car(s)? If so, was it a relatively easy procedure? What product did you use?

Thanks!

Just use a whole shit load of that great stuff spray insulation!! lol. Or you could glue some of that laminate flooring underlayment stuff to the inside of your door pannel. That stuff soaks up sound and vabration pretty well. I personally think you can find DIY stuff that will work better than dynamat for much cheaper.

Be very careful if you spray foam your doors. That stuff expands into any opening, some of which may be hidden, and it wouldn't take much for it to interfere with the windows.

Yeah I was joking about the spray foam. It might would for like my miata that has very few moving parts and no electronics in the door. But a newer car might be dangerous.

I used it back in the day to spray foam my trunk when I had 2 12" subs back in the day. Worked well for that.

I bought some FatMat off eBay, it was relatively cheap, ended up with plenty to do the whole car...now I also may have gone a bit overboard, it is a relatively easy process, but can become more difficult depending on how much you want to pull out of your car.

Yeah, trying to decide if it will really be worth the effort. The doors and rear hatch areas seem to be the loudest areas on my Mz3.

They do have reduced-expansion Great Stuff designed specifically for use with door and window frames. Not sayin anything, just sayin.
