How sick does that interior look! I am so thrilled...

I'll be honest, I think it takes skill to do that, and I begged him to do most of the work. To his credit, he tried to teach and let me practice on some pieces of his, but I don't think I was going to learn and probably screwed up his piece. Really, I take absolutely no credit. well, maybe some creative credit.

It was a bit time consuming since I had 8 pieces in total to do, but he was so helpful and patient no matter how challenging the piece. I owe him big time.

P.S. I think I left my sunglasses at your place. I will have to arrange sometime to grab those.

Im still learning too. I learnt not to let a car sit in 103f sun all day after you wrap tight pieces the night before. I had to redo my foglight rings tonight. Since it takes a couple days for the dinoc adhesive to fully bond. The edges came loose since the sun was baking them all day in the wifes work parking lot and the two pieces had tight curve wraps putting stress on the vinyl and trying to pull it back from the stretched parts. After doing Mikes pieces I think I would tackle anything now however. Going to order a quart of 3m di-noc bonding prep too. I heard to really holds edges tight if you prep the piece with it.

We learned it does take a little time on some pieces that have alot of ends and curves. Helps when one works the heat gun while the other applies the Zi-noc piece. I have a little less hair on my hands, and Mike has a little less fabric in his pants now :)

    That turned out really nice.

I think I'm just going to order a 24x48" piece, that will ensure i have plenty to do the grill, mirrors if I so choose (Haven't decided on that), and maybe try my hand at some interior pieces. Jay I'm sure we could work out getting you a chunk to do your grill also.

i want to do the miata in ALL carbon fiber.
    no joke.
lets just all get a roll and split it, we could all use a lil CF in our cars, inside and out.

Im having trouble with the dinoc sticking to my foglight rings, came loose again on the tight inward curves :( Im going to try a third time using the 3m primer this time, if that dont work I may have to go with the thinner 3M 1080 on those tight curves instead of dinoc.

What is the advantage of the Dinoc over the 1080? Looks? Durability?

dinoc was made for building purposes, 1080 was made for cars. 3m wont even warranty dinoc if used on cars but will with 1080. dinoc is 9mil thick 1080 is 3 mil thick so 1080 should hold better on curved stuff. dinoc probably has a little better texture on the carbon fiber stuff though. Im just reading about more and more people having dinoc lift up on car stuff and not stick as good depending what parts you wrap. I dont want to put the dinoc primer on car plastic stuff cause Im not sure if it would show if you ever took the pieces off. Kind of like putting that plumbing primer on pvc parts before you glue them together. Seems like halfway flat stuff is ok with dinoc, but unless you use the primer on curved stuff and the edges it can lift on you. I ordered a piece of CF 1080 and i am going to try that on my foglight rings this week, its a super stretch to get around those things and its that flexible plastic they used to make them.

I cannot see any major issues with the white trim installed in the Evo. I think they may be spots where I cut it short or maybe a little dimple here or there, but nothing that has started to lift. Maybe it is a bit better for interior?

Stumbled across another Evo X at the tint day and he had his trim pieces wrapped in black CF (prolly dinoc, looked the same as mine) and his wasnt lifting either.

yeah Its probably a combination of the severe curves on the trim rings and having to stretch the dinoc that far and that its a goofy soft plastic that doesnt allow the dinoc to stick good. if i get real pissed i will just pull out a can of black spray paint and hit them with that :) Im sure the 1080 will work better and hold though.

Mike: were did you leave your sunglasses at out house? I mentioned it to the wife and she says she didnt see any.

I 100% for sure left them on your subwoofer, where I originally left my keys, but snatched those and left the glasses. Let me know if you are able to locate them! Thanks!

Let me check.... i may want more than one size...

I do want a big one or two, and might want a couple smaller ones for bumper sticker usage.

Might also want a trollface or two. :D

Bigger ones are not a problem. Its the small lines that make it hard to do smaller ones. Rule of thumb is 1/4 inch on any line cutting in the vinyl. Smaller then that and its getting tough to get one cut without ruining it. lots of small lines in that pic. bumper sticker size would probably be out, but bigger ones wouldn't be a problem.

What's the smallest size you think you'd be able to do that in? And what would be "ideal" size?

Go full rear window on that!

Actually, that'd be kinda funny to go life-size and put on a rear passenger side window.

I might have to measure one of my windows when I get home to see if I could do it close to life size. How much for that image roughly 2' x 2'?
